…so here’s a post about some birds at a spring. The spring the birds I’ll show you today is far from the seat of New Zealand’s government where I now work. The species used to be lumped with the commensal House Bunting, but the two are now treated as separate species. I’m sorry.

Ruddy Turnstone Arenaria interpres at Brigantine

Until last weekend I can’t recall ever spotting a Ruddy Turnstone actually turning a stone so you can imagine how pleased I was to see several doing just that on a rocky beach at Brigantine on the day after the World Series of Birding. Ruddy Turnstone is a Species of Least Concern according to BirdLife International.
