It feels like spring….

It’s actually found in a wadi in the United Arab Emirates, in the mountains between Dubai and the Gulf of Oman. The spring the birds I’ll show you today is far from the seat of New Zealand’s government where I now work. A whole bunch coming for a drink.

From Quarm we turned east to the mountains that stood between us and the Gulf of Oman. Along with Isabeline Wheatear we found both Pied Wheatear and Red-tailed Wheater. Not an Arabian Oryx, but pretty scenic none the less. The small trickle of water had a bunch of Indian Silverbills and Striolated Buntings coming down to drink.
