Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, offers several great birding spots and here are some recommendations for areas to go birding in and around the city, how to get there by public transport, and some of the bird species you might expect to see. A Bit of Birding on Lake Chapala

10,000 Birds

I recently received a kind letter from a 10,000 Birds friend, who was worried that my recent irregularity in contributing to this website might indicate that something was wrong. For the most part, I was still able to get my birding in during these recent months. I assured him then, and assure you now, that I am fine.

This is the second part of a post showing some birds seen at Nonggang in December 2022, along with the usual (mostly irrelevant) comments. Bird of the Year?

10,000 Birds

How can one, in what is barely the second week of the first month of the year – even think of suggesting a Bird of the Year? I began recording my bird sightings with photographs in late 2009, and since then I have seen (or at least heard) a fair proportion of species recorded within my home country of Trinidad & Tobago.

Our 9-day trip to Turkey in September was short, and it was not about birding. The historic center of Istanbu l offered urban and coastal birds.
