Buying a bunch of votes and dropping it like a big crap bomb at an annual meeting may get you what you want but boy howdy, I can’t imagine people lining up to join that group. The spot to view the sparrows and pipit is right on a beaver dam surrounded by mud, it’s pretty cool.

Hundreds of Black-necked Stilts were around the refuge, this group passed right by me on a short morning walk. This group of American White Pelicans were good enough to stop right where I wanted them to, to get this shot. In addition to the birds, we saw Mule Deer, Beaver, Muskrat , and Mink. This shot was taken at 2:00 PM.

But that is because we often have the relationship between dinosaurs and birds reversed in our little primate minds; Much of what is bird-like is not exclusive to birds, but rather, to a larger group of dinosaurs. Facultative (occasional, used when needed) bipedalism occurs in one group of carnivores.

I never cared much for insects and my interest in plants never got beyond the veggy section of my supermarked – in spite of buying field guides and giving both groups a good try. This is very bad news for a group that is largely nocturnal and has adapted to a secretive lifestyle, and is thus best detected by its tracks and signs.
