We share some plant options with southern California, and others with Florida. It doesn’t seem to offer food or shelter for birds; but, being the tallest tree on the block, is an important stopover for lots of species. And it bears for more than half the year! Mostly, we don’t let them. And nothing more.

It encompasses over 70,000 acres spread out between Wakulla, Jefferson, and Taylor counties, and includes about 43 miles along the Gulf Coast of northwest Florida.”
