Although I love dogs they're too dependent on humans, it's true that stray/feral dogs can form packs and survive in the wild a regular dog like a golden retriever would get eaten by a lion instantly. Cats would be the next. The ones who would last until the very end would be lions , tigers bears, eagles and wolves.

With luck, there has been enough negative feedback to stop this kind of insanity in its tracks, although it bears monitoring because there are no guarantees. A pet cat raising orphaned ducklings! That is, until the ducklings grow up, are released into a pond, and greet the local feral cat colony as long-lost relatives.

Just as the ranger was telling us that we might see wild cats – well, not wild cats, but rather, Wildcats , the wild version of the domestic cat, Felis silvestris lybica , one of those cats popped its head out of the brush about 50 feet beyond her. The most interesting thing about this cat was lack of kitty-cat-ness.

Now, he lay frightened and ruffled in my hands, his tail tattered, his feathers damp from the maw of a cat named Puck. Back then, I didn’t know enough about birds, but I knew a lot about cats. I scrambled for a box. I was mortified.
