Frankly, if the name of the Bald Eagle was North Korean Eagle ( Haliaeetus coreaseptentrionalis ?), It is not quite clear why they do this as it apparently does not affect breeding success. Even though I am pretty sure eyes like these cannot be real and have been taken from some oversized teddy bears.

Beside birds, in this park you stand a chance of spotting the Eurasian Lynx , Brown Bear and Gray Wolf ! Keep in mind that the special nature reserves (dark green on the park map) enjoy the highest level of protection and are off limits to visitors (possible only with research permits issued by the park authorities).

I am particularly happy to see that the bird communication section includes recent research on singing female birds. These are all informative and current.

Yala National Park is brimming with wildlife and there are good chances of seeing Leopard , Sloth Bear and Asian Elephant , while it is also excellent for dry-zone birds, while the nearby Bundala coastal marshes and Palatupana ponds are good spots for shorebirds. He is a guidebook writer, mostly specialised in African travel.
