I tried to catch it on video: They come with the audio cable so you can get started right away! They don’t come with batteries, but only take 3 AA. You can also use a power adapter (not included) if you don’t want to use batteries. It was fun when they would do the same move at the same time.

A complete guide would have pictures, audio, and video (something like Thayers birding software). I think the future of ID guides is video. videos of the birds would help out tremendously. A field guide run on an ipod or phone that not only shows pictures and audio butgives video of diagnostic behavior. Wicked, right?
