Despite all of the dangers we have-snakes, spiders, crocodiles, deadly jellyfish, deadly fish, leeches, ticks, mosquitoes and then a pandemic-we still have a population of almost 26 million people. There are Japanese made Eneloop Pro AA batteries that will last for over 1000 photos quite easily nowadays, so this is my ideal camera.

That, and 10 days back on the way was going to be a great to recharge the batteries after a long round-the-world trip. The Pigeon Guillemot is bringing a small fish for breakfast back to the nest. My first surprise of the day came in the form of a great look at a Barred Owl, just sitting on an open branch.

This years bird number 1300, the Whiskered Screech Owl, was found in the dark, in a snow storm, and no photo was gotten. Wandering the Sydney Australia Botanical Gardens, there were a large number of birds that could have made this list, like the Powerful Owl, but this photo of Little Wattlebird is one of my favorites from the area.
