Mexican Border Town Offers Tax Exemption for Euthanizing Dogs

But there are animal rights activists in Mexico that will hopefully take notice and try to establish some kind of long-term and humane solution. The town has become so overrun with dogs, that the government began offering a tax exemption of $17 per stray that was offered for euthanasia. The solution? Sarcasm there of course.

The RSPCA believes: " at least 20 greyhounds a day - either puppies which do not make the track, or 'retired' dogs aged three or four - simply 'disappear', presumed killed " Many vets will admit to killing healthy greyhounds – by definition it cannot be classed as euthanasia – for a cut price fee, for fear the dogs will be disposed of in a less humane (..)

The paradigm case of euthanasia is where a sentient being is terminally ill, will die soon anyway, and is in great pain. Euthanasia is often called mercy killing, for obvious reasons: Its motive is mercy.

The bird was stripped of feathers and so badly battered that euthanasia was probable. They simply helped me with my bird. It’s tribal and familial.
