Birding the Bear Mountain of Serbia

A narrow forest road takes us to the chain blocking the entrance, with a sign “Area closed – bear danger”. This feeding station is not here for the tourists: in order to lower the bee-hive raiding (even the Serbian word for a bear, medved, comes from the word honey – med), supplementary feeding was offered to local bears for several decades.

Moon Bears Rescued from Bile Farm in Vietnam

Moon bears are rare, which makes this all the sadder. Please note that the illegal bile farm was Taiwanese-owned. Thank Animals Asia for the rescue. Tags: taiwan Traditional Chinese Medicine bear bile china asia. It's great that they were saved, but t hey arrived at the rescue center in wretched condition.

A bird wave appeared to me as a single gigantic wild animal, inhabiting the mysterious mountains of Guangxi. I took a vivid pleasure to walk alongside the road following large bird waves.
