I have 2 large dogs and small kids. When we're outside, a large alligator will swim across the pond up to edge of my yard and watch us. It will even move from one end of the yard to the other when the dogs are favoring one side of our yard. Is this aggressive behavior or curious behavior from the alligator?

Gators can have fun, alligators aren't stupid, they can have fun as they along with other crocodilians will give each other piggy back rides, one alligator was seen repeatingly throwing a foot ball that landed in his pond, and another was playing with river otters.

It saddens me, and I find it extremely disturbing, that a five-year old child is giddy, and his parents (and the journalists on this program) are so pleased that he killed a 35-40-year old alligator. Let's deconstruct a few details: The young boy shot the alligator, who had been trapped , in the head and killed him.

Here and there, spits of pale sand became playgrounds for families and dogs, or hunting areas for Great Blue Herons. Brown water limits visibility, but I know that a ton of fish species call this river home, not to mention the alligators. A view of East Bay. The lone shrimp we pulled up in the cast net.
