It's a TLC show about humans that adopt monkeys and treat them as their children. Monkey business is big business in the United States, where some people pay up to $5,000 to adopt a monkey of their own, often a capuchin monkey, which can grow up to 22 inches and 9 pounds. Who suffers? This is seriously weird stuff. Stupid TLC.

Anyhow, so every now and again, Hannes sends me incredible photos from his adopted home in Australia (he is from Tirol originally) and we exchange ideas about how we can push digiscoping just a little further. The whole setup is very nicely balanced and at just over 2.5kg I can easily hold it for longer periods without suffering from fatigue.

Violet's a member of our family. So when we adopted a human baby we knew we'd have to teach that human to avoid Violet. We weren't planning to adopt another. Stanley, Emily, Violet and Sky are members of our family. When we adopted them we made a commitment to care for them for the rest of their lives.

My brother suffered from some pretty bad allergies while we were growing up, so a dog was never an option for my family. I’d always wanted a dog, and we had talked about adopting one for a while. This was a great chance to get a feel for what caring for a dog is really like.
