I have two cats: Tj (F, 10) and Mango (M, 3). She is an outside cat so she would spend some of the day outside and then come inside and chill with me and sleep inside. Eventually, they would even buy cat food to feed Tj because she would be around their house often. Mango is now nearly 3 and the whole family likes him.

If I was an ornithologist aiming for a grant, I would now definitely highlight the need for more research on this topic. The researchers are quite aware of the differences between humans and birds and thus have completely ignored another explanation for this behavior.
