I begin 2012 with 284 birds on my Queens Life List , 478 birds on my ABA Life List , and 1,048 birds on my World Life List. The Tufted Puffins at Protection Island in Washington State. The Parakeet of City Streets, the Monk Parakeet

Some articles speculate that the nests offer protection against the cold. So, I flew to Chicago, where my daughter directed me to Washington Park in New Hyde Park, the area of Chicago where the University is located. And, there I saw the famous Monk Parakeet nests saved by Mayor Harold Washington. Parakeets in frozen Chicago?
