A special Pied Oystercatcher

I have followed the breeding activity of the Pied Oystercatchers in Broome along Cable Beach since July 2000 when I found the first nest site and the birds have continued to use the same territories, though there have been some partner changes. I can also monitor any movement along the coast during the year when they are no longer breeding.

Fox joined the Achiever around 2007 (one of the few failings of the book is that it doesn’t specify the exact year (or years) of her voyages; it’s not clear if the book is the account of a chronological year or an amalgamation of several years). And, this was badly needed.

Lesser Spotted Eagles breed regularly with around 100 pairs in Germany, but unless you know where the territories are you are unlikely to see them.
