FWC officers arrived at a reptile facility and forcefully killed 29 reticulated pythons, 5 Burmese pythons, and 1 pregnant Boa constrictor. How would people react?

What I don’t understand is why animal rights organizations almost completely ignore wildlife. Habitat destruction and degradation is far and away the number one reason why wildlife populations are extirpated or go extinct. People interested in animal welfare who are against this idea are completely missing the point here.

Years ago, I became a wildlife volunteer and advocate because of a cat who caught a bird. The wildlife center was an hour away if I was lucky. That was my first trip to California Wildlife Center. I’d rescued birds before, but this time I had to face the wildlife center with a personal connection to the carnage.
