On "Compassion," "Nonviolence" and "Justice"

Both animal rights groups and animal welfare groups use "compassion" frequently. When you refer to your own beliefs with "nonviolence" you rightfully invite questions about what nonviolence means and it behooves you to work that all out beforehand. Or vegan pumpkin pie. Why all the quotation marks? I don't think so.

There is a general consensus that vegetarianism and veganism are different philosophically. Though I don't think I've ever used the term personhood with a non-attorney, I don't see what's so negative about referring to rights. I'm still not sure why vegan education can't be part of any of these efforts. ). How about this?
