I rescued 5 puppies and their mom 3 months ago. The vet recommended a minimum of 5 days of treatment. I'm terrified that the vet might stop the treatment, and I don't want these pups to suffer or worse. The vet has stressed the importance of completing the full treatment for a chance at recovery.

From Alex: “A friend came to me yesterday who had saved a puppy off the street (see photo). I volunteer for a local animal rescue so I took the dog off her hands, but since this dog hasn’t had medical care, he can’t yet be housed in a shelter as it could put both him and the other animals at risk.

At an NYC puppy shelter a few weeks ago, my mind was just about made up when I met Chester – The cutest Lab puppy I’d ever seen. If your local shelter doesn’t have the breed you want, many animal rescue agencies specialize in particular dog breeds; an easy Google search actually pointed me to specialized animal rescues shelters.

A good portion of the book is about the rescue dogs that grieved with her and comforted her during this time. My vet smiled when he met Rascal. My vet chuckled as he bent down to listen to her heart. Rascal was the fourth rescue dog to come into my home in nine months. Rascal mouthed the puppies from the last litter here.
