The animals themselves identified as “civilised” and started a hunger strike in protest. but walking to the Schollevaar hide I saw Common Chaffinch, Eurasian Tree Sparrow , European Stonechat , Eurasian Blackbird , Eurasian Blue Tit , Common Kestrel and even a Great Spotted Woodpecker. It was awful. They still die, but in a nicer way.

Other quality birds seen in the park that morning included the endemic Wattled Ibis, Banded Snake Eagle , migrant Pallid Harriers, Nubian Woodpecker and Brown Babbler. Mago National Park certainly deserved more exploration and I wished we had time to investigate the well appointed campsites along the Mago River.
