White-faced Ibis at Colusa National Wildlife Refuge

After several minutes of this deep water foraging behavior, this White-faced Ibis made its way toward me into more shallow water Posed for a little while, and then began to preen I’m glad I took the time to visit Colusa National Wildlife Refuge on this day. The Western Screech-Owl Nests in Tree Cavities

Western Screech-Owl ( Megascops kennicottii ) photos by Larry Jordan It’s been an interesting winter in my neck of the woods. I was able to find the Common Redpoll among the flock of Lesser Goldfinches and Savannah Sparrows. Personally, I’m waiting for the irruption of Snowy Owls to reach northern California!
