The monkeys made sense; many species of apes and monkeys are adaptable to many climates and are similar to humans in terms of anatomy. This got me thinking about giraffes living in any part of the US, and I read some reports saying they do live in wildlife preserves in Florida pretty successfully. The giraffes did not.

With so much information on the Internet about how to raise an orphaned wild bird, how do you decide which advice to follow? On the left are healthy young wild birds, on the right are birds raised by well-meaning but unlicensed people who took their information from the internet. Take a look at these pictures. I couldn’t help thinking this–me, the anthropomorphism hater– as I watched a pair of Philippine Eagles tend their nest, raise a chick, and tear monkeys apart in Bird of Prey: The Story of the Rarest Eagle on Earth , a well-crafted, beautifully filmed documentary with a mission. The Philippine Eagle has a kind face.
