From July 6-8, there was a European conference in Larnaca about illegal bird killing , organized by Terra Cypria. The concluding tone of the conference was also on a very positive note, with Cyprus pledging to adopt a “Zero-tolerance&# policy against illegal trapping activities. So it’s not a good week in Cyprus!

Mites will eventually kill the bird. Even if you do not see an obvious wound, cat or dog saliva, which is full of nasty bacteria, can still get into a bird’s eyes/orifices and will eventually kill the bird; it will just die more slowly and painfully.
