A couple bends along the trail and it seemed as if we were out of human contact by a thousand miles. Still fuelled by the euphoria of getting a great look at the Double-toothed Kite , an infrequently encountered resident of Trinidad’s forests – we found a Chestnut Woodpecker working a tangle in the distant canopy.

Birding Acapulco

These goods, purchased with Mexican silver, would then be transported overland through Mexico City, and shipped from Veracruz to Spain. I had never birded this way before, and can confirm that what I had heard is true: Birds are much more tolerant of human presence when those humans are on a boat!

Birds and football! What a combination!

Below are a few suggestions of sites within the city that can easily be reached using public transport. Ruby-crowned Tanager and Fawn-breasted Tanager can be seen here and recently a Blonde-crested Woodpecker has taken up residence and seems to like this area. There is no transport inside the park and all travel must be on foot.
