What I love is that you can use BringPetsHome’s “Shop to Help&# page all year long to raise money to help shelters care for homeless pets. Especially right now with so many pets being given up due to the economy, Bring Pets Home next time you are going to do some online shopping!

Old-speciesists have a rights view of at least some humans but a utilitarian view of nonhumans (18). In some sense, of course, many (perhaps most) humans don't know right from wrong. And perhaps my favorite: "[I]f healthy, homeless humans were rounded up and killed, no one would call the killing facilities 'shelters'" (55).
