The internet evolved, and this site was created with a bigger, better vision, but the goal remained the same… help animals find homes through promoting rescue groups. Rescue Spotlight is going to be an ongoing feature here where we hope to highlight rescue groups to help them get more exposure online.

These three groups are already operating mobile veterinary clinics and other services in Haiti, and planning to go to Chile when they’re allowed in: IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare). Veterinarians, technicians and others can volunteer to travel to Chile to help groups such as World Vets. Contribute to rescue efforts.

The vet did give me a hard time about the dogs' animal-free diets (my traditional vets don't, ironically), and my response was that unless she could show me some research that his particular type of injury needs animal protein to heal, I wasn't going to change anything. The DDF will be raising $20,000 for the training and care of a service dog (including medical bills, training and food) which will be donated to one lucky war vet from the FSD group. The vet who is awarded the service dog will be choosing the winning raffle ticket for the Jeep on September 11 at a ceremony (location TBD).
