Week 21: Our last week in Scotland

I found this little grouping of Guillemots, with parents, babies and even an egg. The boat Captain got us right in close. What started as a small group of birds, with the hope they would make it on their own, is now a very strong breeding population. When were visiting Smoo cave, this one was right in the cave entrance.

While it makes a passing attempt to say not all scientists are like these monstrous fiends (or truly arrogant, as she dubs them) it mostly focuses on these monstrous fiends simply to prove that scientists in wildlife conservation can be monstrous fiends, particularly compared to the environment-loving oil industry of Alaska. Best guess?

Little Big Year – Week 34: We visit Colorado and Texas

One morning, I woke up to see a White-breasted Nuthatch in the tree right behind our 5th wheel, but before I could get out there with my camera, it was gone, never to see seen in the next three days. Guess I was just not holding my mouth right? Here is the gray toned female Mountain Bluebirds.
