I was just curious what the US birders dream about, so I posted a question in the ABA’s FB group: a) what are the most popular foreign destinations and b) where would you go with unlimited funds? Most of the tourists, of which there are quite a few, opt to go on the tours provided by the Supporters, so by walking away quickly from the slowly coalescing groups we were able to lose the crowds quickly. I was in contact with a group of birders for whom I arranged and guided an annual tour to Africa. We already had South Africa, Zambia and Uganda under our belts, but my clients’ request for the next year came right out of the blue: Ghana! The rare Rufous Fishing Owl was one of the many species seen by the group here.
