Whooping Cranes Shot and Killed in Kentucky

Fish and Wildlife Service has announced the death of two Whooping Cranes in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Authorities said the deaths occurred in November but delayed the announcement in order to conduct an investigation and assemble a reward for information. It’s deja vu all over again , sadly.

Lake Tahoe Bear Poached for Gall Bladder

State wildlife officials are investigating a possible poaching case in which someone removed the gallbladder of a black bear -- which can sell for thousands of dollars in Asia -- after the animal was struck and killed this week by a car in the Lake Tahoe area. Sounds like a crime of opportunity. Beware the disturbing photo.
