Following on from last week’s post about Langi Crossing and some of the larger birds species that you can expect to find I will now let you know of some of the smaller species you may encounter along the Fitzroy River at this location. Zebra Finch and Double-barred Finch drinking and bathing.

They used Great T**s from non-urban and urban areas, and mixed them up through breeding, to rule out any possible family history of telomere length. In this study, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a group of juvenile zebra finches was allowed to interact with an adult.

They were even investigating an old fire pit, which was interesting to observe. They were the first of many of the finch family that we would observe along the Negri River. It didn’t take us long to set off to go exploring to see what the area could offer and we were soon writing down a huge variety of species.
