Peregrine don’t take many, being more of a bird prey specialist, but apart from that they are the daily feature on the menu of foxes, ermine, wolves, Rough-legged Hawks , Gyrfalcon and especially Snow Owls. Lemmings can have four or five litters a year of as many eight young. Did I mention they’re fast?

Grief in magpies and red foxes: Saying goodbye to a friend. Chimpanzees and elephants grieve the loss of family and friends, and gorillas hold wakes for the dead. I also watched a red fox bury her mate after a cougar had killed him. Paul’s family noticed that whenever he was about to have an attack, Tinker would get agitated.
