Birding Nonggang, Guangxi, China – part 1

In an interesting experiment featuring a stuffed model of a Collared Scops Owl , Crested Goshawks arrived when hearing the mobbing call of Light-vented Bulbuls that they use when encountering such a scops owl, but not when hearing other mobbing calls. On the plus side, it looks rather funny when wet.

Backyard Birding in Breckenridge

Gorgeous animals, and amazingly graceful, but a bit worrying when they are sitting a foot or two from your six-year-old who was sorely tempted to give them a snack. My worries were unfounded but I must say it is an interesting experience to have foxes begging by the table. Right, back to the birds. What a beautiful beast!
