The Eurasian Nuthatch

Already stuck with virtually colorless warblers they also suffer from a paucity of nuthatches. Most of the photos in this post are of a single bird in an orchard that was very cooperative when we were hoping to find Syrian Woodpeckers. The woodpeckers never showed but I did enjoy photographing the nuthatch.

First Ever World Series of Birding Triathlon Part 3, Or, With a Whimper

We added very few birds here and there but mostly just suffered on our bikes as we tried Hidden Valley one more time, hoping to get the Bobolink that only Clay had heard earlier or the Eastern Bluebird that only Brian had managed to hear. Hoping for Red-headed Woodpecker we found instead a Red-tailed Hawk.
