Zoologists work in several different venues; however most work in academic institutions in the areas of teaching and research. I particularly question the use of chimpanzees in medical research. I recently was escorted through a large primate research laboratory by its director. They were one, two or three to a cage, and I am 80 percent sure the accommodations were exemplary as far as such institutions (or for that matter traditional zoos) go.

I imagine the female bosses the male around, but maybe I am anthropomorphizing there based on my experience in recently working on an apartment with my wife. In Black-throated T**s , nest building is done by both sexes, though the female takes the dominant role (HBW). Taking photos of such a rare species is a bit of a double-edged sword.

Pink Pigeons were featured on episode four of the second season of The Zoo , the excellent television series about The Bronx Zoo,* and their story was disturbing. Meanwhile, on The Zoo, the keepers have been creating an environment for Thelma and Louise so they can nurture the hoped-for egg from The Stud and Serendipity.
