Amazingly, everyone showed up at dawn except for one person, who’d had a near-death experience with me on Colombia’s Sumapaz paramo, an acceptable excuse for a no-show. Anyway, it was some ungodly hour that we all awakened from our beds at Hotel Don Udo’s in Copan Ruinas and piled into the back of two trucks for our four-wheel drive excursion high into the hilly terrain near the border with Guatemala. If you ever go I hope you have as good an experience as I did.
