Growing up in central Oregon, allowed me to experience such a diverse amount of habitat, and the wildlife that resides there. For me, the real jewel of central Oregon is Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge. I have to admit, the whole trip here, was about finding some of the Greater Sage Grouse.

It was an all around quality experience. Unfortunately, their numbers are beginning to dwindle rapidly, as farm lands eliminate their habitat. We had contacted the staff at the observatory, and with Jonnies help, arranged to stay right there in their newly built hostel type facility. Here is a shot of that beautiful Turtle Dove.
