About a year ago I posted information about the launch of a new stem cell therapy for dogs ( Vet-Stem ). Since the launch Vet-Stem has treated more that 1800 dogs and more than 5,000 animals total. This too is good news for pet owners whose only options previously were either an expensive and invasive surgery or euthanasia.

It happened too fast for little Emmie to process. And when she did have time for Hamlet, Emmie cried and pleaded with her mom to take him to the vet. As if the vet had a cure for old age. What I didn’t tell her was that the sleep would occur while he drifted on a cloud to the continent of Euthanasia the following day.

The process of taking in a stray isn’t usually instantaneous and straightforward. The bird was stripped of feathers and so badly battered that euthanasia was probable. The vet confirmed pain, injury and infection from her life on the streets, common afflictions for stray cats. She immediately panicked.
