About a year ago I posted information about the launch of a new stem cell therapy for dogs ( Vet-Stem ). This therapy uses adult stem cells to help injured dogs and dogs suffering from arthritis. Since the launch Vet-Stem has treated more that 1800 dogs and more than 5,000 animals total.

Choosing to adopt a dog rather than get one at the pet store (or what some like to refer to as “puppy mill”) is a beautiful thing—essentially you are saving a poor pup from euthanasia and you’re providing a an animal with a good home. But adopting a pet is a huge responsibility and is very similar to adopting a child.

The bird was stripped of feathers and so badly battered that euthanasia was probable. It’s the bane of many rehabbers that they simply can’t get through to cat owners on this critical issue of free-roaming pets. The vet confirmed pain, injury and infection from her life on the streets, common afflictions for stray cats.
