One would think that for a species as common in Europe as the Grey-headed Woodpecker , the HBW would spend some effort to update the species entry. I am only joking! Birds should be free.

Snowy Owls are used in falconry, more so in Europe but they are legal for a few states here in the US. Here are some myths: Falconry birds are essentially pets. They know how to trap raptors and if something is interesting nearby, they will try to band it for research. I learned that I knew nothing of falconry. Not always.

Un-owned cats, as opposed to owned pets, cause the majority of this mortality. But they don’t live in North America.
