I knew the military in general used animals for combat medical practice.hadn't thought of the Coast Guard though. Frederick was responding after People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called on the Pentagon to stop the practice. PETA leads the charge against the Coast Guard. So, I belong to this book group of 5 to 7 women. I've been with the group for a while and it's not bad. There is one member of this group who works for a pharmaceutical company. She supports medical research on animals. One scene has the author entering the part of the hospital where the research animals are.

Know Your Adversary Part of being an effective activist on animal research issues is knowing the arguments in support of animal research. Be cautious in repeating claims you find on the Web, especially those made by members of chat groups. Get FOIAed Up!

Beloved family pet Dalmatian, Pepper, is stolen, and after several weeks of searching is discovered to have been experimented on at a hospital and died on the table when researchers tried to implant her with an experimental cardiac pacemaker. By the end of my time as researcher, I was performing behavioral experiments on humans.
