It gets very confusing when I’m trying to look at subspecies descriptions in multiple field guides (“Slate-Colored Fox Sparrow” in Sibley West, for example, is “Western Slate-colored Group” in Stokes West). And, that falcons are about as far away from hawks as a bird family could get. This means that loons are no longer first!
