In February, Cornell University announced a $35 million gift to endow and name the Cornell K. Lisa Yang Center for Wildlife Health at the university’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I want to trap a mouse that lives in my house and keep it as a pet. Otherwise it takes its chances out in the field. What do you all think?

I'm 46M I live in an old house in a rural area in the UK. I live with one dog and my elderly father. There's at least one mouse living in my house atm. I've had mice come in a few years ago and trapped them (gently) and released them in a field far away but afterwards I read that most mice released like this die very soon trying to live wild.
