Then, at 6 PM, as the sun disappeared completely over the horizon, the ducks on the pond started massing on the west end of the pond, with many small flocks from all over the pond flying in to the west end until it was basically covered with ducks. It won’t be long before the drake Ruddy Ducks are all in their breeding finery and doing their displays for the females so I thought I would take the time this past weekend to try to get some decent shots of the males that are still in basic plumage.
