Our pick-up from Blumine was slightly delayed as the afternoon boat was distracted by Bottlenose Dolphins (something I have to say we might have enjoyed ourselves) but we were then off to Motuara Island, another predator free bird sanctuary. A Bellbird singing.

The main chapters are habitats, fauna and flora, followed by a separate chapter on whales, dolphins and seabirds, and the Sri Lanka national parks and wildlife reserves. Yala is good for dry-zone birds (and essential for Leopards), while the nearby Bundala and Palatupana are places for shorebirds.
