Stony Creek Brewery: Big Cranky Double IPA

Tomorrow I’m taking part in my local club’s official Big Day event – the Hudson-Mohawk Bird Club’s 73 rd Annual Guy Bartlett Century Run – for my fifth year in a row. Personally, I’m expecting nothing less than a Kirtland’s Warbler to get me to 129 species tomorrow, but scouting efforts to date paint a more grim picture.

Disappointed with a Florida Fork-tailed Flycatcher

I may now have the distinction of being the only birder to have found two of this species in North America – not bad for a guy who hasn’t been blessed with a great deal of luck at finding major rarities. It also brought back memories of a Fork-tailed Flycatcher that I found in Queens, New York in 2000.
