As the rice paddies near Kota Kinabalu described in an earlier post , Tanjung Aru beach is not really a major birding spot in its own right. It is listed as Near Threatened, partly due to the usual occurrence of illegal trade for the pet market. It is listed as vulnerable, again as a consequence of illegal trade and habitat loss.

The only wildcat I found was illegally killed by hunters during closed season. In other words, Serbia will take an expensive Chinese credit in order to hire a Chinese company and their labour (hence, the Chinese funding goes back to China) to build a harbour that will immediately be given to the Chinese concessionaire.
