I found a full intact apple today hidden in my winter cat shelter. My neighbours grow crab apples and it looks like a creature had hidden its snack in the shelter. I was thinking a raccoon but then read that they don't store food? I'm hoping there's some animal experts here!

I don't know if she was being sarcastic, but in my town I see dead armadillos, opossums, raccoons, all manner of turtles, and squirrels dead in the middle of the road frequently. As someone whose cat (technically my sister's cat) disappeared when we were kids, I know the pain of wondering what has happened.

Case in point: some of my family members have become active with feral cat colony organizations. It started with donation requests for spay and neutering cats but then quickly transferred to a trap, neuter and release organization. On the one hand, it’s better than doing nothing with a feral cat colony.
