I received a call yesterday from a woman who started a coalition for homeless cats. She said her Trapper Man could go to the Project Treadstone site--last night and this morning--and trap up to 10 cats that she would bring to Pahokee. She has brought over a dozen cats there in just two weeks, 11 of whom were pregnant.

Shift-It Tip: If you’re set on a purebred dog or cat, buy one from a rescue association instead of getting a pedigree from a breeder. Enjoy the guest post (thanks Susan): As I write this, my black cat, Sasha, is going through her pantomime, telling me that she either wants to go out, or she wants to eat. My youngest daughter spotted the exceedingly shy black cat and wanted her. Because she had never been socialized, this cat did not even know how to purr.

From the feral cats of Project Treadstone to Charles' back surgery to problems with Violet's Vetsulin (insulin for dogs), we had more than our share of issues. For these reasons, my vet had no problem with me stockpiling Vetsulin. As many of you know, 2009 was chock full of creature-related drama for me.
