Lost Animals: Extinction and the Photographic Record: A Book Review

I ache that I will never see what the photographer has seen, but hope that maybe if I try hard enough I will see some kind of echo of this experience in the image. Fuller’s astonishment at locating this “grail of extinct-bird photograph hunters” is contagious. It’s almost as good as finding the bird itself!
