Here's a great question I received via direct message on Twitter ( www.twitter.com/mary_martin ): "Do you think that even if Obama had adopted a shelter dog-it still may have caused a run on breeders? This is why I didn't campaign for a greyhound--it raises their profile. Would it matter?" That's what I'd like to think. Maybe both.

Breeds with very short fur like Chihuahuas, boxers and greyhounds may have a hard time keeping warm, making even brief walks uncomfortable. If you find a lost or stray pet, please call your local animal control or nearest animal shelter. Not all dogs were born with lush fur coats that keep off the winter chill. Wipe Those Paws.
